Digital Fabrication - "The Letter"
Using the principles of parametric design and Grasshopper Software (visual based scripting) this model of the letter M was designed by layering two "U" shape building blocks.
The final model was fabricated using 3mm laser cut plywood. A key feature of the design is the use of living hinges, a laser cutting technique that allows the plywood to follow the inside and outside curves of the model.
The design was featured and exhibited as part of the 2016 Luminosity event at UNSW Oct 2016.
